Five Dates That Won't Break the Bank
A strong friendship is the foundation to a healthy dating relationship. Take time to get to know your potential dating partner. Here, we offer some great ideas that won't leave you asking for an advance on your allowance! 1. What time is it? Game time! One of the best sports to watch on a date is baseball! It's a nice calm game (so the guys won't get all riled up), and it lasts hours which gives you time to just sit back and chat. Purchase bleacher seats-they're much cheaper. Feeling hungry during that 7th inning stretch? Get tickets on dollar dog night. Yep, a ballpark frank for only a buck! Rooting for the home team doesn't need to steal your dough. 2. Don't forget the popcorn Movie nights are very common on dates. And who doesn't enjoy a good flick? But by the time you purchase the tickets, sodas, candy, and popcorn, you've probably used up your life savings! If you want to save some cash, invite your date (or plan a group date) and rent a movie you've all been wanting to see. Want to make it a ritual? Have each person in the group bring the funniest movie they have ever seen. Each week (or month), feature that movie. You can all enjoy a good laugh together. And the popcorn and sodas are way cheaper. 3. Music to my ears Do you and your date share a common taste in music? Then a concert would be the perfect date for you. You're probably thinking, "Concert tickets can cost a fortune!" Here's some news for you: A concert in the park. Check the local section of your paper to see who's playing in your town. Many times musicians offer free concerts or only charge a few bucks. Plan ahead and pack a picnic to enjoy after the concert. You can hang out in the park and talk about how much you both loved the music. 4. We've got spirit, yes we do! Every high school student thinks her/his school has the best sports team around. So why not show your school spirit and cheer for your team. You and your date could paint each other's faces and sport only school colors. Make up some chants or cheers, or even start the wave! After the game, you can celebrate the victory by going for ice cream. You will both be surrounded by familiar faces in a comfortable atmosphere. This is a great idea, especially for a first date. Still a little nervous? Make it a group date. 5. X marks the spot Though this one takes a little planning, it's worth it when you see how much fun you'll have. Plan out clues that lead to one another. Use pictures, quotes or phrases to help your date out. Try to use clues that have special meaning to each of you, or have the clues lead to places of significance. At the end of the treasure hunt, have something special, like a framed photo of the two of you. It will definitely be a memorable date. |
